December timetable 06

c2c website

Delays and more excuses - that's how c2c started the week introducing their new timetable for December 2006 onwards.

Not only have they given south Essex commuters a new timetable, they have in fact given us much busier trains and sh*ter train times at that.

This especially applies through the Chafford Hundred/Ockendon line - where there are 5 peak trains in the space of 1hour 20mins. Great, thanks for the luxury!

Ok, so the new timetable only came into affect Sunday 10 December and we all need time for it to bed in – but come on c2c, its Tuesday morning and there are still delays and a massive lack of communication.

Another observation is the non-existence of c2c station-staff on the platforms. The only thing that’s been ringing out is “I’m sorry the 8… blah blah is delayed by 10mintues. c2c apologies for the delay and any inconvenience this may cause”… b*ll*cks you are!

If c2c can't implement a working timetable that runs on time, gives commuters a better choice of trains and allows commuters on the train, why implement a new one at all?

And to put the fairy on the tree, c2c are putting the prices up in January!

What now
If you're already sick-to-death with the new timetable, please show it. As I’d like to show c2c this blog and get them listening!

I travel from Upminster and it is very difficult to even get on a train now. The overcrowding also makes it difficult to get off at West Ham.

I have been living on Chafford for nearly 8 years now have seen the station grow from a mere 100 people on the platform to what it is now, the station itself cannot cope with the amount of people now living on Chafford, for one they should have extended the station to cater for the extent of residents now living in the area.

I think I speak for most people who are commenting about C2C that the service has gone from bad to very bad over the past week. They have taken it upon themselves to (by all accounts) provide the commuters with more trains i.e. running every 20mins instead of every 30 minutes. Unfortunately this has not worked, the trains now I becoming delayed and thus causing a back log in arrival times, which is causing few Chafford trains that we do have to be cancelled in the (rush hour)to catch up with the set timetable. Also to add to this, because they have cancelled the 8:11 train in the mornings and the 07:59 now arrives at 08:05 and starts at Stanford Le Hope, the train has become packed in the morning, and if you get on at Upminster you do not have a hoping hell of getting on the train let along getting a seat. I think C2C must have been asleep the day they decided to reshuffle the timetable and whats more they have the nerve to put the train fare up in January.

C2C I think you will end up with a battle on your hands and very abusive customers if you do not rectify the problems that have been outstanding for sometime.... you will get it right one day!!!
